Getting ready for the cold weather

ONE!

So, my little guy turned one on the 23rd of September and I'm just getting around to blogging about it. It was a good time and he was totally overwhelmed by all the attention and noise--11 kids under the age of seven in our small backyard. And no that is not chocolate icing on his nose. He biffed it a few days before the blessed event. I guess his first birthday will be memorable for that if nothing else.

Watching TV

It's hard to watch TV when Bruce hogs the remotes.

Kimball got new big boy shoes this week. He is walking everywhere in them.

Uncle Sam and Aunt Genevieve

Sam and Ginny chose to be bumped on their way back to New York. A $400 voucher each and first class on the return trip was too much to pass up. So they spent their layover with us! It was so fun to have some time with them. Little Man also loved seeing his aunt and uncle and cousin-to-be. Thanks for the fun and sushi guys!

The Time Has Come

A busy summer

Here are some of the things Kimball has been up to:

Hiking with Dad (so tiring).

The Zoo with cousins Evan and Miles.

A magician at the Kaysville library with Grandma Hansen and cousins Karston and Brayden.

Visiting Grandpa Hansen in the hospital after (another) surgery. (Get better Ed!)

Checking out our stake's float for the Days of 47 Parade. (Nice job, Lance and crew!)

Two Trips

Since my last post we have taken two trips.  The first was to Mexico on a cruise with my parents and some of my siblings.  (Thanks, Mom and Dad for the wonderful time).  We also celebrated our nation's independence in Mt. Pleasant.  Below are a few highlights of the two trips:

MEXICO:

Kimball found a spot to splash in the water and create snot drools.

We dressed up for dinner.  (Probably not worth it if your baby is just going to want to go to bed so you end up eating lobster and melting chocolate cake in your room anyway.  But the lobster was delicious.)

Bryce entered a hairy chest contest.  He didn't win, but he won my heart all over again.

Yea, for towel animals!  Kimball was impressed.

Kimball was less impressed with the beach and slept through his first visit.

But he loved the cabin!

Bryce parasailed.

Kimball finally enjoyed the beach.

We sailed.

Bryce made idle threats.

We all enjoyed La Bufadora.

MT. PLEASANT:

Bryce's parents joined us by bringing their new fifth wheel down.  It was so fun to have them with us.  We had fun at the parade.

Kimball (and Bryce too) especially liked the tank.

Kimball received a new toy from his Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.  (Thanks Ed and Cyndy.)  He'll be walking in no time.
