Two Trips

Since my last post we have taken two trips.  The first was to Mexico on a cruise with my parents and some of my siblings.  (Thanks, Mom and Dad for the wonderful time).  We also celebrated our nation's independence in Mt. Pleasant.  Below are a few highlights of the two trips:

MEXICO:

Kimball found a spot to splash in the water and create snot drools.

We dressed up for dinner.  (Probably not worth it if your baby is just going to want to go to bed so you end up eating lobster and melting chocolate cake in your room anyway.  But the lobster was delicious.)

Bryce entered a hairy chest contest.  He didn't win, but he won my heart all over again.

Yea, for towel animals!  Kimball was impressed.

Kimball was less impressed with the beach and slept through his first visit.

But he loved the cabin!

Bryce parasailed.

Kimball finally enjoyed the beach.

We sailed.

Bryce made idle threats.

We all enjoyed La Bufadora.

MT. PLEASANT:

Bryce's parents joined us by bringing their new fifth wheel down.  It was so fun to have them with us.  We had fun at the parade.

Kimball (and Bryce too) especially liked the tank.

Kimball received a new toy from his Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.  (Thanks Ed and Cyndy.)  He'll be walking in no time.

Kitchen bowls and water

There is nothing quite like kitchen bowls, water and a happy baby.

Memorial Day, etc.

In the past few weeks I have:

1. Visited the grave cite of Heber C. Kimball, Little Man's namesake.
2. Visited the new statute of Rodney Badger at the Peace Officer's Memorial.   (Bruce peed on him in greeting.  I'm sure he saw it that way.)
3. Quit my job.  (This is a picture on my last day as a lawyer.)
4.  Made a fire truck cake.
5. Made a baby blessing cake.
6. Took Little Man to the park with Grandma Cyndy.
7. Had fun with Little Man at the park.
8. Watched little man eat the fence at the park.  (More interesting than watching the over-fed ducks at the park.  Fore more on the park, click here.)

Portland

Last week we went to Portland to see Aunt Amber get pinned--i.e. graduate (with honors, not too shabby) from the University of Portland with a nursing degree.  Turns out Kimball is a natural flyer.  He wanted to watch the takeoff from the window and then settled into his own seat to wait for his complimentary beverage.

The pinning ceremony was one of the most un-boring graduations I have ever attended, and that includes my own.  Although, two hours of sitting was a little much for Little Man.  He got slightly annoyed when the ushers wouldn't let him stand in the corner in Mom's arms.  Well, at least Mom was annoyed.  Good thing Uncle Derek and lots of extra hands were there to entertain.  But overall, two thumbs up.  Congratulations, Amber.  We are so impressed and proud.

Before leaving Portland we had to check out the wonders of the Pacific Northwest and so took a hike in the city park.  It was Kimball's nap time and so he was less impressed than the rest of us.

Easter pictures!

Bryce's mom, Cyndy, and I took Little Man to get his Easter pictures in his new Easter outfit (Thanks to Nana for the new clothes). I also couldn't help getting a few shots in Kimball's Deron Williams jersey. Go Jazz!

Kimball likes what Dad likes

It turns out that good looks and redish hair aren't the only things Kimball got from his dad--try a love a sticky notes, computers and music!

A boy and his toys

Kimball got a new toy this last week: a rainforest jumperoo.  (Yes, it's really called a jumperoo.  I didn't make that up.)  It makes all kinds of jungle noises when he bounces.  He loves it.  But his favorite toy is newspaper.

Christmas Pageant

Charlotte finally emailed me the pictures from our Christmas pageant so I was able to scrapbook them.  Char, let me know if you want to print copies.  Anyone else?
