June 13-19: The Bees! And more summer.

June 13.  The boys have been working hard in their summer workbooks.  But Abby was feeling bad she didn't have a "workbook" so I got her a Frozen coloring book.  She has been working hard.  She rips the pages out just like I do for the boys and I am pretty sure she has been trying to write just like them.

Saturday was a glorious day because Bryce got his bees!  The hive is tiny.  It's called an eco bee box and will help Bryce learn to rear queens.

June 15.  Monday was our last day of swim lessons.  The boys are getting to be great swimmers and Abby is a bit fearless in a frightening way.  After lessons they wanted to hang out in the outdoor pool.  I think I should get an award for taking all three by myself!  They loved it.

June 16-18.  This week they started day camp and Stan's preschool.  The first day Abby was soooooo excited to go.  She kept saying "Me go!  Me go!" when we pulled up.  It's going to be hard to keep her home when Stan starts school again.  We have also been playing with our friends and neighbors, Oliver and Emerson.  These three cuties love the hammock.

June 18.  On Thursday evening Bryce and I had a date to the Wasatch Beekeepers annual BBQ.  Bryce wants to start going to the club and learn more about bees.  It was fun.  They had an auction and I bought some gloves and a chicory plant.

June 6-12: A flood!

June 6.  At 5:30 Saturday morning we woke up to an inch of water in the basement.  The landlord had installed a new water line up to the swamp cooler and it had come undone in the night.

Bryce thought his solution to dry things out was pretty funny.  We called the EQ president and were able to round up some people to empty most of the basement of our belongings.

Stan was able to open his new costume Saturday morning which he earned by not throwing a tantrum for 5 days straight.  If only it lasted. . .

In addition to the flood, there were two birthday parties.  Kimball went to one for a kindergarten classmate and then we celebrated our friend Gabe's birthday at the park.

We decided to put the kids up on the blowup bed due to the flood.  They were not disappointed at all.

The landlord's solution to use a carpet cleaner was woefully insufficient and we eventually were able to convince him to replace the pads that had become wet.  This happened about 9pm Saturday.

It was a long day and chocolate and Diet Coke seemed the best solution.

June 8.  On Monday Bryce had to work late so I took the kids out for Italian Ice.

Then I became a neglectful parent and let Abby fall asleep on the stairs.

June 9-16.  Every day last week we went to swimming lessons at the rec center and I worked.  It seems like a nice beginning to summer--even if an exhausting one.

May 30 - June 5: Piano Recital, End of School and Parks

May 30.  Bryce took some pictures of the back yard because he is trying to decide where to put the bees he wants to get.

June 1.  On Monday I decided to take the kids somewhere after school.  We went to the park with our friends.  It was hot and crowded which made Mom grumpy, but the kids loved it.

June 2.  On Tuesday Kimball had his piano recital.  He did such a nice job!  It's so fun to see how much he has learned.

June 3.  I got Kimball and Stan workbooks for summer.  Bryce told them if they did 20 pages in one day that he would take them for a treat.  They worked hard on Wednesday and each did it!  Abby was happy to color while her brothers worked hard.

June 4.  Thursday was Kimball's last day of Kindergarten.  He has grown and learned so much this year.  We are proud of him.  Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Armstrong.

Stanford insisted on a project and I caved.  I helped him make a rocket out of a toilet paper roll.

After dinner Bryce took the kids for their treat--Slurpees!  He also took them to the park.  What a dad!

June 5.  On Friday I put on a movie event at the Gateway.  It was the documentary film Tough Love about two parents trying to get their kids back from CPS.  We had a great turnout.
