June 21-June 27: A Week Without Adventure

June 21.  Saturday we stayed home.  Bryce worked on a proposal for a new client and I cleaned the kitchen floor.  I thought about taking a picture of the kitchen floor.  Perhaps a before and after.  But it was just too gross.

June 22.  Sunday we all slept in until 8:00am.  Which is pretty late for us.  I am sure Abby was up much earlier than that, but she just rolled around talking to herself until I finally got up.  She is such a funny girl.  She is the pickiest eater of all my kids.  I struggle to find things she will eat.

Recently Beachnut changed the packaging on some of the fruit pouches.  I bough a bunch because she still loves to eat them when she first gets up, but guess what?  Abby doesn't like the new packaging!  Flat out refuses to eat them even though they are exactly the same food.

Here she is playing her computer game without any clothes on!  Silly girl.  We did pretty well at church today until Abby decided to attack Kimball.  I wonder how long it will be before we can sit through a sacrament meeting without having to take one of the kids out.

June 23.  Monday was just another day.  London takes really good care of the kids while I work.  Here are some of the pictures she sent me recently.

June 24.  I had a really long work day on Tuesday and still managed to make it to swim lessons.  Bryce has been trying to get more of the juniper bush out.  Our landlords are going to be putting in the fence soon.  One of the strange things, among many, we have found in the bush is a pipe that was put into the ground pretty deep.  Bryce was able to finally get it out on Tuesday after the kids had gone to bed but that didn't stop them from coming to investigate in pajamas.

June 25.  Wednesday Kimball had his second piano lesson and Stan, Abby and I hung out in the teacher's back yard.  Abby likes dogs.

Abby threw her dinner on the floor and Kimball started a bug collection by using nearly every clean canning jar in the house and a laundry basket.

June 26.  On Thursday, I caught this cut pic of Abby.  She was so excited to ride the horse that she bonked her mouth on it.  It was sad.  We had swim lessons again.  Bryce met us there after work.  We stayed so long that the best we could do for dinner was a $5 pizza.

Another project London made with the boys
June 27.  Friday after I worked we went to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's house.  We had talked about going somewhere fun but Stan didn't want an outing.  "I want to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and I want them to play with me and I want to eat sudding (something)."  So off we went.  Grandpa took the boys to buy new 4 wheeling helmets and goggles.  Grandma, Baby and I did a little shopping.  Grandma got Abby a new toy (which Abs picked out herself) and she bought me a swimsuit cover-up and flip flops.  We then went to the grocery store for a few things for dinner.  Since the rest of us were up in Kaysville, Bryce joined us and we had a sleepover.  After taking the 4 wheelers around the block a few times, Grandma and Grandpa put the kids to bed so Bryce and I got to go to a movie.  We saw Edge of Tomorrow and really liked it.  It was a fun end to the week.

June 14-20: A wedding!

June 14.  Saturday morning we woke in the tent in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard.  Pancakes and sausage were for breakfast!  We thought about going for a hike, but it was rather chilly.  So we played some more xBox Kinnect and went to the Lego Movie at the Kaysville Theater.

June 15.  On Sunday after church we headed back up to Kaysville to celebrate Father's Day with Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.  We had a delicious dinner and nice time hanging out.  Afterward we visited an old friend of mine, Amy Lee, with whom I went to BYU in my undergrad days.  She just moved from Phoenix to Kaysville and has a lovely home on the west side with a view of a horse pasture.  (Dad, I am pretty sure she lives really close to the Belnaps).

June 16.  Monday was a long work day for me.  It was so long that by the end of it Kimball was ready to kick London out of the house.  This is unusual because typically the kids love for London to come over.  We ended the day with FHE, Slurpees and more xBox Kinnect.  Our house is a little small for the Kinnect so we had to find a way to place it over the TV.  A diaper box worked just fine.

June 17.  Tuesday was a cold rainy day.  I actually wore a sweater.  After work, Kimball had his first piano lesson.  His teacher is a neighbor of ours and she won him over by teaching him the Star Wars theme.  The boys also had swim lessons and I went to a Relief Society activity.

June 18.  Wednesday we went to Thanksgiving Point Gardens with our friends Gabe, Victoria, Sebastian and Maria.  It was a great day to go.  Not too hot.

June 19.  I spent most of Thursday making the cake for the wedding of Bryce's brother, Derek.

The boys had swim lessons again.  I didn't take Abby to the splash pool this time so we got to wander around and wait.

This is a picture that Stan drew of me with a snowball.  I think it a remarkable likeness.

June 20.  Friday was the day of the wedding!  We got to go to the courthouse in Ogden and see Derek and Melanie get married.  It was a sweet ceremony.

Afterward we had a nice lunch at Costa Vida with the bride, groom and their four daughters, Grandma and Grandpa Hansen and our gang of monkeys.  After lunch we took the girls, Tylee (9), McKenna (8), Maren (5) and T.J. (3) to the arcade called Fat Cats.  Each kid got a number of tokens and we divided the tickets so everyone got a couple of prizes.  Then Grandma and Grandpa treated us to the movie How to Train Your Dragon 2.  After the movie Melanie's parents hosted a roast beef dinner.  Overall it was a wonderful day.  We are so happy for Derek, Melanie and the girls.

Melanie's parents have a big long driveway and 14 wiggle cars.  They were enjoyed by nearly everyone.  Abby loved them and was able to control them remarkably well, but I forgot a photo.  :(

June 7-13: A Luau, Swim Lessons and a Camp Out

June 7.  On Saturday, I went to the wedding shower of one of my mission companions--Kristin Hatch.  She is marrying a guy who is completely deaf.  I am very happy that they have found each other.  I wish I would have taken a picture.  So I will just steal one from Facebook.

For dinner, we went to the ward luau.  One of the highlights was the pinata.  All the kids got to try it on after it was smashed and the candy retrieved.  It was a really fun night.  We have such great neighbors.

June 8.  It was my turn to host the Norman family Sunday dinner.  Everyone except John was able to make it.  We even watched a little of the NBA finals after dinner.  I love getting together with family.  It's nice to be with people who love you no matter what.

June 9.  Monday was another long work day with no pictures.

June 10.  After work, I had a friend come over and make some home made rice-a-roni in a jar with me.  We made 24 jars.  Next I took the kids to the rec center for swim lessons.  I played with Abby in the splash pool while the boys practiced their skills.  They got to join us afterward.

June 11.  I had to stop working a little early when the internet went down.  We couldn't leave and do anything fun because we had to wait for a technician, so we made the best of an afternoon home with caramel pop corn and a movie under a suspended blanket.  I was attempting to make a fort that wouldn't block the TV, but Kimball told me it was just a roof.  Sometimes Mom can't win.

June 12.  Thursday was another day of work and swim lessons.  Bryce met us at the pool after work and joined in the fun.

June 13.  We had planned to go up to Bear Lake on Friday, but Grandma and Grandpa Hansen were busy working on some remodeling at one of their rentals.  So we headed up to the Hansen's for a camp out in their back yard.  The boys were also dying to give Bryce his Father's Day gift--a Kinect for the XBox and some new games.  We had a fund night with pizza, games and a sleep out.  I slept well thanks to a blow up bed and a remarkable baby who didn't cry once.
