April 26-28: More preparations for Disneyland!

April 26.  Saturday morning I got up and made the kids pancakes.  Abby played in the sink.  It's so fun to see her do the things that the boys did.  Kimball loved water in the sink at this age.  It makes me realize that it goes by so fast.

The kids also loved getting in a morning tackle on Daddy.  Bryce thinks this is the best part of his life.

I took the kids to see some of my mom's cousins while Bryce worked on one of his last papers for his MBA (I wish I could say he's done.  Almost, almost.).  Then I did a little more shopping for the trip.  We ended the day with dinner and a movie night at Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's.  We watched Voyage of the Dawntreader because we finished reading it just yesterday.  Ed and Cyndy are off on a 12 day trip to the Holy Land.  We hope they have a marvelous time.

April 27.  The day started with a lot of packing and ended with Bryce saying we should leave Monday evening.  I was a little stressed about getting ready in time, but we did it.  We also had dinner at Charlotte's with my parents, John and Jill's family and Kirstin and James' family.  Not many Sundays left before my parents leave.

April 28.  Monday was packing day.  We were able to get loaded up and on the road by 6pm.  We hoped for St. George, aimed for Cedar City but made it to Hurricane.

The prize buckets were carefully stowed to as to be accessible during the drive.  I tried to space them out, but the kids spent most of the drive asking when they could open another present.  At least they weren't asking when we would get there.  Although, they did ask that too.

A neighbor had suggested using shower caddies with suction cups to put stuff in.  They boys loved them although Stan could barely reach the stuff at the bottom of his.

April 19-25: Happy Easter!

April 19.  Abby is the first one up at our house.  After waking up Mom or Dad she comes upstairs, toddles over to the pantry and demands some fruit pouches for breakfast.  One of her favorite morning activities is spinning in Mom's office chair.

After everyone else was up it was time for Saturday jobs.  Here I am helping Kimball clean the mirror while Abby tried to brush her teeth (her favorite!).

Saturday afternoon we headed over to John and Jill's for some Norman Easter activities.  All the grandkids painted their hands for a hand print apron for Papa.

We dyed some Easter eggs.  (That's three times this year for my kids.  A record!)

Abby made friends with Coco.

And best of all there was an Easter Egg hunt.  Nana designed a darling scavenger hunt where each grandchild had to find certain eggs.  The kids loved it.

Last of all we had a wonderful BBQ with Papa's famous marinated steak.

April 26.  Sunday was Easter.  Bryce and I both taught lessons in Church and Abby discovered the joys of a Cadbury cream egg.

After Church we had a lovely dinner and another Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Hansens.  Kimball had to find the orange and yellow eggs, Stan the blue and pink.  Not wanting them to have more candy I emptied my coin jar into the eggs and each boy made about $12.00.

April 21.  The kids and I took advantage of the nice weather and went to the park.

Then for Family Home Evening we brought one of Bryce's ideas to life and made a pulley system for the car.  Now we will be able to pass things back to the kids while traveling to Disneyland.  We leave in 8 days.

April 22.  I have a great neighbor that watches my kids while I work.  On Tuesday she sent me these pics of Abby jumping on their trampoline.

And I spilled fruit punch on clean dishes.  Awesome.

April 23.  I spent a good portion of Wednesday getting the kids prize buckets ready for the trip. My kids might be a little spoiled.

April 24.  Thursday we went to John and Jill's in the evening to borrow their cargo carrier (Thanks John and Jill!!).  Little by little we are getting ready for the drive.

April 25.  More shopping and work.  We also had the sister missionaries over for a pizza dinner.  Only 4 more days until we leave for California!

April 12-18: Kate Starts a Job and Bryce Writes a Book

This week felt like a big week while I was going through it, but looking back it wasn't that big of a deal.  It was spring break so Kimball didn't have any preschool and I started my new job working for a firm from home.  Starting the new job was a bit emotional because I was excited and nervous and worried all at once.  I felt a bit chaotic because our Nanny, London, was out of town for her spring break.  But somehow I made it through.

April 12: Saturday started out with family pictures at the state capitol.  Thanks to my wonderful Dad I have a few shots to post.

Next we got to go to the new aquarium for the birthday of this little pirate:

James' little guy, Rigby, turned three.  We had a great time celebrating at the aquarium and will be able to bounce back again before the end of the summer.

April 13:  Today we went to my parents' mission farewell and the blessing of Charlotte's baby Tilda Beth.  It was a nice meeting.  Afterwards we had a cousin reunion at Courtney and John Brown's so everyone could say goodbye to my parents before they leave for their mission. It has been a long time since I have seen so many of my cousins and the boys had a great time playing.

Oh, and Abby loves shoes.

April 14:  Monday was a free day at the Natural History Museum at the U.  We decided to make the trek and were able to visit the chocolate exhibit which was a lot of fun.

After the museum we went to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's for dinner and a special Family Home Evening about Easter.

We also slept over and Stan got to snuggle with Grandpa in the morning.

April 15:  This was the day I got the news I would be starting my new job, like immediately.  It was also Bryce's last day of his class on W. L. Gore.  He and his fellow students wrote a book for the class.  Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Kimball was productive, just like his father, and started a new project writing each number from 1 to 100.  Each number got its own paper.  It took him a couple of days but he did it.

April 18:  I am pretty sure that Wednesday and Thursday were boring, but since I have no pictures I don't remember what we did.  I know I worked.  On Friday, we went to This Is The Place Heritage Park with Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.

It was a bit chilly, but nice to be out of the house.  Kimball adored the baby chicks.  I told him we could have chickens some day.  Now he doesn't want a dog anymore because, ya know, because the dog might kill the chicks.  But we can get a rooster so we can make more baby chicks.  I can't wait!

Bryce tried to convince Stan to put on his pull-up by demonstrating how it's done.  (He is such an awesome Dad, even if he wastes a pull-up in the name of silliness.)

I also let the kids take some pictures before bed, so I have some random pictures like those that follow.  These were the good ones.
