Christmas in San Antonio

Bryce, Kimball and I had a great time with Bryce's sister's family in San Antonio.  It was certainly warmer than in Utah.  Thanks to the Chatlands for all the fun memories . . . the sugar cookies, Christmas Eve, the fun rounds of Killer Bunnies, the movies, the river walk, the presents and most of all for your hospitality.  We love you guys (or I should say, "y'all").

James' and Kirstin's Wedding

I have been working on scrapbooking James' and Kirstin's wedding.  Kirstin, what do you think?  Should we digitally scrapbook your wedding album?

I've got myself a thumb sucker

I knew it was coming because Kimball had his fingers in his mouth from the time he was about 3 seconds old. He has finally figured out that the thumb makes a nice binky. I listened to him smack that thumb in his mouth as I drove around on my Christmas errands yesterday. I listened to that same smacking as I was falling asleep last night. That's right, Kimball is a thumb sucker.

I was a bit worried about it at first, but after consulting Dr. Brazelton (which is the ultimate authority for Bryce because he is the author of the book that his sister Kim gave us), I'm ok with it. According to the preeminent pediatrician, thumb sucking is simply a means of consoling oneself. A baby that can console himself is much easier to take care of. And the more you tell the kid not to suck, the longer he might do it. And it's not a problem for teeth until they reach about five and the permanent teeth are coming in. Binkies fall on the floor and get lost and you have to remember to put them in the diaper bag. Thumbs are always handy (no pun intended). So, Kimball, my boy, suck on, I say, suck on.

Kimball will be forming a club for all you closet thumb suckers. Feel free to email me if you want to join.

Thanks Aunt Maude

So, my Aunt Maude came over yesterday to teach me some of her digital scrapbook secrets.  I learned a lot.  And thanks to Maude's generosity, I am in scrapbook heaven.  Check out the most recent.

More Digital Scrapbooking

Here is a page I did from James and Kirsten's bowling open house just before they got married.  I am really starting to like this digital stuff.

Digital Scrapbooking

I swore I would never do it, that I would remain true to my obsession with scrapbooking and accumulating embellishments, paper and ribbon at any cost. I was convinced that I wouldn't like it, that I wouldn't be able to put a page together.  I'm afraid my stalwart stance might have to come to an end because I have discovered the joys of digital scrapbooking.  I'm a newbie and I'm still figuring things out, but it's so much fun. Almost as addicting as regular scrapbooking without the mess. Here is the first page I ever created. Cute huh?
